Subscriptions and add-ons can only be paid with a saved card today. A prospective customer working in Web3 asked to pay for Ferndesk in stablecoins (USDC), and raised usage-based and pay-per-use billing over Coinbase x402 as the longer-term version of the same idea.\n\nWhat they want, smallest first:\n1. Pay a monthly or annual subscription in USDC instead of by card.\n2. Usage-based or pay-per-use charges settled in stablecoins.\n3. Machine-to-machine payments over x402, so an agent can pay for access programmatically.\n\nToday: billing runs Autumn on top of Stripe, and the payment method is a reusable card captured through a SetupIntent, so Stripes one-time crypto payments never surface. Any stablecoin arrangement would have to be a manual invoice outside the product.
